Gary Dymski holds a BA in urban studies from the University of Pennsylvania, an MPA from Syracuse University, and a PhD in economics from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He was a research fellow at the Brooking Institution and a member of the economics faculties at the University of Southern California (1986-91), prior to joining the University of California, Riverside (UCR) economics faculty in 1991. Gary went on extended leave from UCR during the 2003-2009 period to serve as founding executive director of the University of California Center Sacramento, the University of California’s academic public-policy program in California’s state capitol. He joined the Leeds University Business School in 2012 as professor of applied economics. Gary is co-leader of the Leeds University interdisciplinary CITIES research initiative.
